Hey, I'm Carrie!
I’m a wife and mom to two energetic little boys who keep life exciting and full of laughter. When I’m not at the baseball field cheering on my favorite players, you’ll find me at home in my comfy clothes, embracing the coziness of being a true homebody. Decluttering, organizing, and decorating are my absolute favorite things to do, and I can’t wait to join you on your own decluttering journey.
While I don’t have a dramatic transformation story about how I discovered organization and it changed everything, I’ve had a knack for this since I was a little girl. I vividly remember having my own box of 96+ crayons because my brother couldn’t keep them in perfect color order. I used to organize our family’s kitchen cabinets for fun and my mom still talks about how I rearranged store shelves when she would take me shopping with her instead of hiding in the clothing racks like other kids. Organizing, reorganizing, and creating lists have been part of me for as long as I can remember.
This knack for organization followed me through dorm life in college and after I graduated and got my very own apartment, I would argue that storage and organization were more important than the actual necessities. I had a bin, a basket, or a tote for everything and everything was always in its place. I spent my every single Saturday morning happily cleaning my apartment and reorganizing spaces for fun. A few years later I married my wonderful husband, we bought a home, and a few years after that we had a little boy and bought a bigger home. The bigger our spaces got and the more people that occupied them, the harder it was to maintain our perfectly organized space.
As any mom of a baby and toddler knows, the gear can take up so much space. High chairs, strollers, bouncy seats, walking toys, and on and on. Everything had a home, but it seemed like there were so many things and keeping them organized became more and more challenging. As our oldest son grew, I gladly parted with the larger items to make space, but it seemed there was always something new coming in for him.
Fast forward to 2020 when a global pandemic changed the world as we knew it forever. My husband and I went from being gone all day at our jobs to both working from home full time. Our oldest was 4 and our youngest was just born. Things shifted for me on a very deep level that year. I can’t say whether it was the state of the entire world, the impact to our family going from always being gone to always being home, the addition of yet another person, postpartum emotions or a combination of all of these things, but our haven of peace suddenly felt incredibly overwhelming and cluttered.

Our home has always been organized, but with the shift to spending more time at home and working from makeshift spaces, it just wasn’t working for us anymore. I looked around one day and realized we had too many things—too much on the walls, excess clutter in every room, and toys in every single space. Even though everything was technically organized, it felt overwhelming. I knew we needed to simplify. Fortunately, my husband is usually on board with my shenanigans, so we dove into the decluttering process. It took some effort, but soon enough, everything felt lighter and more manageable.
I remember stripping pictures from walls, knickknacks from surfaces, extra cups from cabinets, and pillows from couches. I tossed excess makeup, duplicates of anything, clothes we didn’t wear, old markers, and on and on. The result was a simplicity I desperately needed during that season of life. I’ve heard it said that the more things we own, the more we have to care for and my experience confirmed that. Whether you realize or not, all of your belongings are sending you a message that you need to do something with them. Less things means more mental space to just be.
Several years later, we’ve embraced a minimalist approach that continues to serve us well. Our home is warm and cozy, yet free from excess. Having less to manage has been a true blessing for our family, and I’m eager to share my tips and tricks with fellow moms everywhere.
As moms, we juggle so many responsibilities—supporting our spouse and kids, managing the family calendar, running errands, cooking dinner, and often working a job, too. We need our homes to be a sanctuary, a place where we can step in and instantly feel at peace. While the laundry and dishes will always be there, managing them becomes so much easier without the burden of excess and clutter. Trust me, a simpler space can make a world of difference.
I’m so thrilled you’re here and I cannot wait to share this journey with you!
